Although this blog started out as a daily update on Chris Johnson's heart surgery, I am using it now to post about the happenings in my life since Chris died. You can email me at mjmj57@bellsouth.net.

The skies are overcast here in Rochester, but things are bright and shining at St. Mary's hospital. Chris continues to improve, although sleep is still a problem. He had an echo cardiogram today-the left lung is looking much better. They have removed several IV lines. This afternoon, physical therapy will be by to help Chris get up out of the bed and transfer to a chair-yesterday it was a different type of chair. He will not get dialysis today even though his kidney numbers are slightly elevated-they will wait and see. All of the other numbers are holding steady. Brent-Chris's nurse will work with Chris on deep breathing and /coughing to help his lungs stay clear. Chris will be busy today which hopefully will tire him out enough but not too much. Have a good day and keep the thoughts and prayers coming. Take Care. MJ

Chris has a big job ahead of him which I am sure he will tackle with great enthusiasm. The daily report is so uplifting - good news every day! Thoughts and prayers coming your way. Don't forget to have a little "me" time in the midst of all the chaos. How about a movie or massage!

Sounds like Chris is improving by leaps and bounds! Are they doing peritoneal dialysis (throught the abdomen)? That is much easier on patients than hemodialysis. Take care. Love to all. Dot and Annette
Even though we may not post comments often, it is so nice to read about Chris each day. We continue to pray for his progress as well as strength and rest for you!

I am so glad to hear the news of the last few days. I know that this is a difficult time for all of you, but hopefully things have begun to turn around. You all are in my prayers.

I am sure the tide has turned now and he is on the road to recovery.
I bet he will be the same old smart butt any day now.

are so pleased that he is doing
better and will continue to do so.
Our love to all, Mary Lou and JD
What a fighter Chris is. I remember that from the Delta Chi days on Maxwell Street.
