Although this blog started out as a daily update on Chris Johnson's heart surgery, I am using it now to post about the happenings in my life since Chris died. You can email me at mjmj57@bellsouth.net.

What a wonderful morning here in Rochester. We just left Chris and he looks great. He is wide awake and wanting to know what is going on. He asked about the girls, and I updated him on their activities. I told him UK beat Mississippi State in football-he raised his hand in cheer (sorry Don and Kim). He is very animated with his facial expressions and his sense of humor is coming through. He is not in pain, but is tired. He was fine with us returning to the waiting room, knowing that we would see him in about an hour. His numbers are still good, but he no longer has the good p-waves. He is in Atrial Flutter. Pediatric cardiologists have been consulted and they have decided to ease up on some of the pulmonary hypertension medications to see if that will help. I think they will probably wait until tomorrow to turn down the vent. Chris seems much stronger which is what they were hoping for when he was put back on the ventilator. Tammy, his nurse, asked if there was anything specific Chris would like to see on TV. I said probably not during the day but tonight he had a lineup shows he liked to watch-Chris nodded in agreement. Hopefully things will continue to improve throughout today. This is truly a day the Lord has made-Let us rejoice in it!! Take Care. Mary Jo

Mary Jo: Tell Chris I said that I'd recommend The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity and Combs for good nightly viewing. That ought to adjust his attitude! Glad things are going well. We're thinking of all of you. Hi to Aunt Carolyn.

Thats such great news and that he is getting stronger and more like himself. Of course if they could just make a few adjustments in a few other areas that would be just great too.... KY WINS, now how much better could he ask for, another year of Rich Brooks and Mitch Barnhart GO CATS.... HAHA... Again we all are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Take care.
YOUR NEWS FROM ROCHESTER IS INDEED WONDERFUL. IN KENTUCKY ,THE SUN IS SHINING BRIGHT AND IT'S A GREAT DAY THAT THE GOOD LORD HAS GIVEN US.

The news thelast few days have truly been wonderful! One small setback, with a situation such as this seems so minor. Bob updated the worshipers this morning on the full extent of Chris's recovery and many sighs of relief were heard! Carolyn, yesterday's trip to Brown Co. was fun, nice weather etc., but, extremely tiring and I'm not sorry I went, but wouldn't want to do it again for that many hours. So, you really didn't miss anything! Tell Chris to keep up the good work, which I know he will. Anne
Great news Jo! We are so glad to hear Chris is feeling stronger. You & Carolyn must be so relieved to see "the old Chris" coming back. Keep up the good work! Enjoy this beautiful day! The sun is shining brightly in Illinois too.
